You are getting ready to bring home your puppy! Let’s get a training plan in place!
This is definitely an exciting time for you and your family! Help set your family, and your new puppy, up for success within your home by having a training plan in place! Our puppies have high intelligence and a general eagerness to please their owners. Families who choose to utilize a professional program usually tell me their Cherry Lane Doodle is the Valedictorian of the class!
However, left to their own devices, a puppy without a training plan in place, can quickly and easily learn undesirable behaviors that can be hard to break. Now you’ve just made things harder on yourself and on your puppy. Puppies are like sponges and it’s imperative to teach them what is acceptable behavior, and what is not, beginning on the very first day you bring your puppy into your home.
The following training recommendations have been tried and true. We offer a few options to best fit your lifestyle or needs.
Canine Good Citizen Certificate
All the options listed below can lead your puppy to earning their Canine Good Citizen Certificate through continuing these training courses. The CGC program is recognized as the gold standard for dog behavior. Dogs who pass the 10 step CGC test can earn a certificate and/or the official AKC CGC title while their owners are encouraged to live up to the Responsible Dog Owner's Pledge.
The CGC title is also a prerequisite for many therapy dog certifications, as well as a great introduction to more advanced dog sports and activities.
From the Comfort of your Own Home
Baxter and Bella Online Puppy School
Train your puppy directly from the comfort of your own home with this online puppy school! Our families love this program, and how the curriculum is set up in easy-to-follow steps. If you have a question, or something isn’t going right regarding training, schedule an online meeting with one of the Baxter and Bella Trainers which is included in your membership fee!

Board and Train
Canis Kidz Academy LLC
Cherry Lane Doodles is excited to offer to our puppy families the option to send their puppy directly from our home to Canis Kidz Academy! This way, when you bring home your puppy, the crucial training has already been done. Continuing what Lynn has established, will set you and your puppy up for amazing success! Lynn is great at sending lots of updates and YouTube videos during the training journey to the puppy families! Arrangements must be made with Lynn in advance to hold your spot.
If Cherry Lane Doodles delivers your puppy to the Academy, there is a $75.00 delivery charge which must be paid at the time your puppy balance is due.
Private Trainer
Megan Trains Dogs
Megan is a trainer who offers private sessions within your own home. Megan can quickly see what is going wrong within the puppy’s environment and what needs to be tweaked to establish desired behaviors. We’ve had several of our puppy families utilize Megan’s training services! Each family has said she is an amazing trainer, and how wonderfully trained their puppy is after even just a few sessions with her! One family even called her a miracle worker!
