-About Us-

The Cherry Lane Doodle Family

Both Jeff and Stefanie have owned dogs their entire lives. They especially loved Golden Retrievers and decided to raise them. They believed this breed truly embodied man's best friend. The only downside they saw with this breed, is they shed immensely, and they are not good for allergy sufferers. Jeff and Stefanie began to research Goldendoodles, and shortly found out, that this designer breed encompasses the traits they so love in a Golden Retriever with the addition of having a low shedding dog…..the added intelligence the Poodle gene brings was a welcomed bonus too! They carefully selected Lucy, their foundation dog, who is an F1 English "Teddy Bear" Goldendoodle, and she is the total package! They’ve added several more dogs to their program since Lucy, and to learn more about all the dogs in their breeding program, please clink the link on our website “Moms and Dads of CLD.”

Cherry Lane Doodles strive to give their customers the best Goldendoodle they can produce through screening of genetics and character traits. They work closely with their vet, and with other seasoned breeders. Each puppy is raised in their home and gets an abundance of love and affection from the very beginning of their life.

When they aren’t busy loving on their dogs, Jeff works as an Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for a nearby school district. Jeff recently earned his Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University. Stefanie earned her bachelor's degree in education, and taught 5th Grade at their local Elementary School. Although Stefanie loved that career, she decided to stay home to raise their three beautiful children. It was during this time at home, Stefanie got back into raising puppies right alongside their children.

Education is obviously very important to Jeff and Stefanie. They have continued educational opportunities within their breeding program which include attending two Goldendoodle Association of North America (GANA) Breeders’ Conferences. One in Greenville, South Carolina in 2019 and the latest in Phoenix, Arizona in 2023. At the 2019 GANA Conference, Jeff and Stefanie were able to meet, and attend sessions hosted by Dr. Gayle Watkins who is a renowned Golden Retriever Breeder, Head of Education at Good Dog, and Founder of Avidog. They also met with and heard a session hosted by Myra Savant-Harris who is an Author and Speaker on Dog Reproduction and Whelping, Breeder, and Puppy Care. Lastly, they attended a session by Ji Khalsa, the founder of Midwoofery who has a master’s degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry from Arizona State University, studying canine genetics and behavior. At the 2023 GANA Conference, Dr. Jessica Hekman shared information regarding the Genetics of Dog Personality, Epigenics, and Biology of Socialization! It was fascinating information stressing the important work that Breeders do during the first several weeks of a puppy’s life, which can help pave the way to the overall health and development of the dog. Stefanie has completed a few courses developed by Midwoofery which include whelping basics, cleaning, disinfecting, and biosecurity, and a canine nutrition course. Recently, Stefanie earned her certificate for completing, Your Litter A to Z, developed by Dr. Gayle Watkins. Stefanie also completed a Puppy Aptitude Course, and a Breeder’s Mentorship Course (developed by Badass Breeder) to effectively temperament assess and raise her puppies. Then Stefanie went another step further by being vetted by Badass Breeder to earn her Comprehensive Breeder Badge and has become a Tier II Evaluator (highest tier) which means she is a part of an elite group of breeders who successfully temperament assesses their puppies. Along with this title, Cherry Lane Doodles has earned a rating of Excellent on the website Good Dog, which is the highest rating a breeder can obtain.
