About Cherry Lane Doodles
Jeff and Stefanie have been lifelong dog lovers, with a special affection for Golden Retrievers. While they adored the breed's loving nature, the heavy shedding and allergy concerns led them to explore Goldendoodles. This designer breed offers the best of both worlds: the loyal, friendly traits of a Golden Retriever paired with low-shedding, hypoallergenic qualities and added intelligence from the Poodle.

Their journey began with Lucy, an F1 English "Teddy Bear" Goldendoodle, who became the foundation of their program. Lucy is the total package, and since then, they’ve added more exceptional dogs to their breeding program.

At Cherry Lane Doodles, the focus is on producing the highest-quality Goldendoodles by carefully screening genetics and character traits. Each puppy is raised in their home with plenty of love and attention, ensuring they are well-socialized and ready for their new families. When they’re not busy caring for their dogs, Jeff and Stefanie are equally passionate about education and family. Jeff works as an Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for a local school district and recently earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University. Stefanie, with a bachelor’s degree in education, previously taught 5th grade before choosing to stay home and raise their three wonderful children. It was during this time that Stefanie rediscovered her love for raising puppies, incorporating their children into this rewarding journey.

Their dedication to education extends to their breeding program, with ongoing learning and professional development. Jeff and Stefanie have attended two Goldendoodle Association of North America (GANA) Breeders’ Conferences: in 2019 (Greenville, SC) and 2023 (Phoenix, AZ). These conferences provided incredible insights from experts like Dr. Gayle Watkins (renowned Golden Retriever breeder and founder of Avidog), Myra Savant-Harris (author and expert on dog reproduction and care), and Ji Khalsa (founder of Midwoofery and canine genetics researcher).

In 2023, they delved into the genetics of dog personality, epigenetics, and early socialization with Dr. Jessica Hekman, reinforcing the vital role breeders play in a puppy’s development during those first critical weeks.

Stefanie has completed numerous courses to elevate Cherry Lane Doodles’ program, including:

• Midwoofery Courses: Whelping Basics, Cleaning and Biosecurity, and Canine Nutrition.

• Dr. Gayle Watkins’ Training: Your Litter A to Z Certification.

• Badass Breeder (BAB) Programs: Puppy Aptitude Course, Breeder’s Mentorship, and Tier II Evaluator Certification—the highest level offered.

As a vetted member of BAB, Stefanie conducts expert temperament assessments for each puppy. These efforts, combined with their commitment to excellence, have earned Cherry Lane Doodles the highest “Excellent” rating on Good Dog.
